This is a race to bring awareness to the racism around us and to educate fellow peoples about it. All of the registration money is going to be given to an organization designated to teaching society about the harmful effects of racism. We are hoping that they will give free classes with this money, and/or provide free classes for students
This is an entirely student operated and student created event. The students are from City High/Middle's African American class. Their goal with this race is to make it become an annual event, bring awareness to today's types of racism, and to help the community become racism free. We hope this will expand to other communites around us and to our nation.
The Race will be Held: MAY 31st, 2009.
Time: 3-6 P.M.
Location: City High Middle school
Distance: 5k( 3.1 miles)
Cost: $10.00, which includes: a T-shirt, Water bottle, and Registration
Teams: You may run as a single person or you may be in a team which has to have at minimum 6 people. The team with the most people will recieve an award
Type: This is a walk/ run. Running is entirely your choice. You may go at the pace that best suits you.
